The intention of this Library Project was to provoke the notion of the virtual "third" dimension. I wanted to create a temporary space where the virtual and the real could exist as a body of knowledge. I was also intrigued by the idea of association-location, where the books could be found according to what anatomical association it had.
The stairway leading up the exterior 'skin' of the body was intended as a place of retreat. Directly below is the Womb, where the Childrens Learning Area would exist.
With the human form covered in a semi-transparent kevlar fabric, the body would appear from the exterior as a large skeletal mass. At night it would emerge as a glowing monument, as a protector and projector of knowledge.
